The Power of Opportunity

Despite its growth, Greenville ranks among the lowest in the nation for economic mobility and youth educational access. We are lacking in various areas concerning child protection and well-being. Young people experiencing generational poverty need additional resources, training, and opportunities to close the gap with their peers, all while aiming to establish equitable opportunities for every South Carolinian.

  • Limited Economic Mobility
  • Disparities in Child Well-Being
  • The Urgent Need for Targeted Support

About Us

Our History

TJ and Andy first met as freshmen at Carolina High School in 1993, and their bond has only strengthened over the years.

Andy has dedicated his career to the military and currently holds the position of sergeant major and commandant at the SC Army National Guard Non-Commissioned Officer Academy.

TJ served four years in the military, including a deployment to Iraq in 2003, and he now works as a clinical social worker in Greenville.

Having both grown up in Greenville, they are passionate about helping young people from their community.

In 2024, they founded We Rise SC for this purpose.
